Central Park, NYC

An experienced coner does it backwards on one skate by the slalom course next to Tavern On The Green.

6.1 miles right in the middle of the action! Enjoy a rigorous workout with a view of the NYC skyscrapers and a number of other colorful New Yorkers skating with you. Closed to motor vehicles weekdays from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. and all day on the weekends.

From April to October, you can visit either 72nd Street Entrance for a free braking lesson and skate map courtesy of the Central Park Skate Patrol, the charter member of the IISA's National Skate Patrol.

For more on skating the park in connection with New York City tourism in general, visit: http://www.nyctourist.com/central_park4.htm.  If you're ready to venture beyond the park and would like some company, visit The Empire Skate Club website.  For the big picture on the NYC skate scene, the New York City Inline Skate Guide is your key to the city.
